DCD Connect APAC 2025 in Bali: XENOptics Elevates Zero-Touch Fiber

XENOptics took center stage at DCD Connect APAC 2025 in Bali, the region’s flagship data-center congress. The gathering drew cloud architects, hyperscalers and carriers eager to discuss next-generation infrastructure. Leveraging this high-visibility forum, XENOptics showed how its zero-touch fiber technology erases the last manual chokepoint in automated networks.

Throughout the exhibition, delegates crowded the live rack to watch traffic reroute in seconds—no patch cords, no human hands. The demo featured the Smart Optical Switch (XSOS-576D), which uses a robotic arm to re-patch fibers while maintaining Class A optical performance. From one GUI, operators triggered cross-connects that would normally require a truck roll, proving unmanned edge data centers are viable now.

Lightning Talk Highlights Robotic Switching

On Tuesday, 18 June, Co-Founder and COO Solomon Sokolosky delivered a fast-paced 5×5 Lightning Talk (pdf-file link opens in new tab) that distilled the value of robotic switching for edge, 5G fronthaul and disaster-recovery rings. He told the DCD Connect APAC audience that manual patch panels cannot keep pace with cloud-scale agility. Field-replaceable control units inside XSOS let teams extend product life, add capacity, and upgrade firmware without service interruption.

The core message—zero-touch equals zero downtime—landed with operators facing strict SLAs. Many queued after the session to discuss migrating brownfield sites in Tokyo and Manila to the zero-touch model unveiled in Bali.

Sneak Peek: Compact Switch for Dense Racks

Visitors at Stand 32 also saw the upcoming Compact Smart Optical Switch (CSOS), a 2-RU platform with 72 or 144 ports, scheduled for H2 2025. The CSOS gives colocation hubs a smaller footprint while preserving the zero-touch DNA that dominated DCD Connect APAC 2025.

Attendees from Singapore, Jakarta and Sydney agreed that unmanned edge sites and “lights-out” data centers are top goals for 2026-27. XENOptics’ automated fiber fits those roadmaps, delivering faster provisioning, lower OPEX and a clear path to zero-trust operations.

As lights dimmed on DCD Connect APAC 2025, consensus was clear: Bali marked the tipping point for robotic fiber, and XENOptics is driving the shift from the archipelago to the global edge.
